Answer

Tracking employee handbook acknowledgements

Publish each policy in one place, ask every employee to acknowledge it, and keep a list of who has and has not, per policy and per version, so an update is acknowledged again. Paper sign-off sheets fail on the update: nobody re-collects them. LVL Up Performance publishes handbook policies to staff, records each person's acknowledgement against the current version with the date, and shows the owner or office manager who is still outstanding.

How it works

Policies, published

Add each policy (the handbook itself, time off, conduct, anything you need signed), mark whether it needs an acknowledgement, and set a due date if you want one.

Acknowledged against the version

Each acknowledgement is recorded against the policy's current version with its date. When you publish an update, the new version needs a new acknowledgement; the old one stays in the history.

Who is outstanding

One view lists, for every policy that needs it, who has acknowledged the current version and who has not, so the follow-up is a short list, not a stack of paper.

Where we are the wrong answer

LVL Up records that a person acknowledged a policy in the app, by checkbox, typed name or drawn signature, with the date. It is not a dedicated e-signature service and does not produce a signed PDF with a signature certificate. It does not write your handbook or review it for legal compliance: what the policies say is for you and, where it matters, an employment lawyer.

Getting set up

  1. Add the current handbook and any separate policies, and mark the ones that need an acknowledgement.
  2. Publish them; staff see what they need to acknowledge.
  3. Check who is outstanding a week later and ask those people directly.
  4. When a policy changes, publish the new version and repeat.

Common questions

How do I get employees to acknowledge the handbook?

Publish it where they already work, ask for an acknowledgement with a due date, and follow up only with the people a list shows as outstanding. Re-ask on every update, because an acknowledgement of last year's version does not cover this year's.

Does an in-app acknowledgement replace a signature?

LVL Up records the person, the policy version, the date and a checkbox, typed name or drawn signature. It is not a dedicated e-signature service; if your lawyer or a regulator requires a signed document, use an e-signature tool for that.

What does it cost?

Policy acknowledgements are included on every plan, from $29/month for up to 25 people.
